RANDOMSEATS LICENSE v1.1
Effective date: July 20, 2026
Copyright (c) 2026 Eunsung Lee. All rights reserved.
1. Scope
"Software" means the official RandomSeats web client and the desktop and
mobile applications distributed by the copyright holder, including their
original code, design, graphics, and text. User Data and Third-Party Components
are not part of the Software for licensing purposes.
2. Limited End-User Grant
Subject to this license, the copyright holder grants you a limited,
non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
(a) access and run the official web service;
(b) download official installers from an authorized distribution channel;
(c) install and run the official application on devices you own or control;
(d) use it for its intended purpose personally or in a school, academy, or
other educational setting; and
(e) retain one reasonable archival copy of an official installer.
No source-code license or right to redistribute the Software is granted.
3. User Data
You retain your rights in student lists, class information, seating results,
and other data you enter or create. The service Terms and Privacy Policy govern
the limited processing of that data needed to provide the service.
4. Restrictions
Unless the copyright holder gives prior written permission, you may not:
(a) reproduce, extract, publish, redistribute, sell, sublicense, rent, or
re-host the Software or its protected code, design, graphics, or text;
(b) modify, translate, or adapt the Software to distribute a derivative copy;
(c) remove or conceal copyright or license notices;
(d) copy protected expression, code, or assets to create a clone or competing
service;
(e) use bots, scrapers, or unapproved APIs to bypass access controls, extract a
substantial part of the Software or service database, or impair the
service; or
(f) collect the Software in bulk or in a structured way to train, fine-tune,
evaluate, or build a dataset for an AI or machine-learning model.
Personal use of an AI assistant with your own User Data or exported results is
not prohibited by paragraph (f).
5. Reverse Engineering and Security Research
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or de-obfuscate the
Software except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law. Good-faith
security research performed in accordance with the published Security Policy
is also permitted and takes precedence over conflicting restrictions in this
license.
6. Third-Party Components
Third-party and open-source components are governed solely by their respective
licenses, not by this license. Notices and license links are listed on the
Acknowledgements page and may also accompany an installer.
7. Suspension and Termination
A material breach may result in suspension or termination. Where practical,
the copyright holder will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to cure.
Immediate action may be taken to prevent security, legal, or operational harm.
The applicable service Terms govern notice and appeals for account restrictions.
8. Enforcement
Unauthorized use may result in remedies available under applicable law. This
license does not state that every breach is a crime; liability depends on the
facts and applicable law.
9. Warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Software is provided "as is"
without warranties. Nothing in this section limits warranties that cannot
lawfully be excluded.
10. Limitation of Liability
The copyright holder is not liable for loss caused solely by events outside the
holder's reasonable control or by your misuse. Nothing excludes liability for
intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or liability that cannot be excluded
under applicable law. Any other liability is limited as provided by applicable
law to direct, reasonably foreseeable loss.
11. Service Changes and Support
Updates and support are not guaranteed. Material service changes or
discontinuation will be handled under the service Terms, including notice where
practical.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
This license is governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. A dispute will
be heard by a court having jurisdiction under applicable procedural law; no
exclusive venue based only on the copyright holder's domicile is imposed.
13. Order of Documents and Severability
The service Terms govern accounts and online-service access; this license
governs use of the Software; the Privacy Policy governs personal information;
and the Security Policy governs qualifying security research. If a provision
is invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective.
14. Changes and Contact
Material changes will be announced in advance as described in the service
Terms. Licensing and permission requests:
